NATIONAL BASS ASSOCIATION OF THE DEAF, INC.

The minutes of 32nd Annual National Bass Association of the Deaf Team Tournament was held at Lake Ouachita in Mount Ida, Arkansas.

Meeting: NBAD Executive Board

Date: June 10, 2007

Time: 8:10 a.m.

President Mack Wilson called NBAD Executive board meeting to order at 8:10 a.m.

2007 General Chairman: Brett Ketchum explained that he was so busy with his father, who was passed away in very close time for this tournament.

He explained that the registration will be at West Basin Loop 109 behind swimming pool and will start at 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Also he said that LRBAD host rent 40/80 canopy, electric light and the location is nearby boat slip K & L.

He explained that he will put plastic orange tie-downs to tie each pole for boat slips each boat slip and they will know that it was already reservation for officers, committee and some of participants. If anyone put their boat with disobey the rule then it will be automatically disqualified. They must show up for weight in at canopy.

It will be inspection start open at 5:00 a.m. from Monday to Thursday for pick up number tag at Marina office store, rental and Subway.

When they arrive before 3:00 p.m. and they must stop at HB Dock with pontoon and drop their number tag at fishing net.

The breakfast will be open at 4:30 a.m. from Monday to Thursday at Mountain Harbor restaurant.

The Host committee will sell foods, snack, etc from Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at West Basin Loop 109. For Wednesday they will close for social evening at canopy.

They gave away free orange neck Lanyard to officers and committees. Also make sure that officers and committee to wear it all the time for one week. So participants will recognized who is responsible for this tournament. The participants and fans will get black neck lanyard. Also they will sell for extra lanyard for $6.00 each. Also he explained that the light green card for registration badge is for officers, COR and committees. The light tan is for participants and fans.

He explained the he already got two speakers for General Assembly and will start at 1:30 p.m.

As speaking about Billy Carwile, mime, that he had conflict of plan and he will arrive on Monday and the Mime will start on Tuesday evening to Thursday instead of Monday to Thursday.

Also he will explained to everyone that don’t move any chair from iron tent holders (sticks) and chain to hold the canopy tent up.. He doesn’t want anyone to get hurt from it.

He already got two person, who will be their photographer and one of them will put all pictures in CD then will put in the laptop and Point Power to show them every night for about ten or fifteen minutes before start with awards, etc.

He explained that Hawk Relay is sponsored to LRBAD and gave some monies they will buy for door prizes on Wednesday night.

Participants must pick up 29 plastic bags at weight site.

As speaking about weight scale – at first it will start with up to 5 basses to weight first then pick out which is big Lunker to weight.

He is still working to get hold of warden to get catch and release pontoon.

Also there will be four booth will start on Thursday evening. Sorensen VP will set up for rest of week.

 

PRESIDENT’S REPORT: He make announced that NBAD foundation bought a new 6 X 12 Cargo Trailer for NBAD. Any kind of equipment and other materials is belong to NBAD and will put everything inside of this Cargo Trailer. So we will know where stuffs are.

1. Updates By-Laws and tournament rules

He explained that he want us to work with C/BL and need to clean up or straight out since he think some of sentence was leftover and never omit or there is some confused to everyone. He thinks that Vice President and all of us need to focus in the winter time. It is best time.

2. Create guidelines

He explained that we need to create more guideline and it will more easily to everyone to read on guideline than C/BL. We already have some guideline lately and need to review again in the future.

3. Financial Issues

He explained that we need to make sure that we need to understand how the NBAD budget and exact why it is loss or gain from it.

4. NBAD yahoo communication/emails

He said that we need to explain to COR and participants again as how can they sign up for yahoo.com as NBAD. It will be share for any information about our NBAD or their local Deaf bass club.

5. Host Issues

He explained about Illinois Deaf Bass Anglers are still working to get sign as contract of agreement with Kentucky Dam Village State Park Resort for 2009 and MarVA Silent Bass Anglers, Inc still consider to bid for 2010 in either Potomac River or John H. Kerr Dam and Reservoir (Also known as Buggs Island Lake) and for headquarter would be either in Virginia or North Carolina. Also Houston Bass Club of the Deaf are consider bidding in 2010 or 11 in Sam Rayburn Lake in nearby Houston. As long we understand it is not yet confirm for MarVA and Houston Bass Club of the deaf.

6. Kid Derby Jr – Education

He explained that we need to work with COR from affiliated club and encourage them to come to School of Deaf or mainstream school to make speaking about our NBAD and need to get new brochure. We can make CD with NBAD then show them with Point Power...

VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT: no comment

SECRETARY’S REPORT:

It is good news that I received letter from Hawk Relay with their check as sponsor for our NBAD/LRBAD for booth at St. Charles, Missouri on May 5, 2007. They pay full amount of cost.

He explained to compare from 1997 and 2007 for affiliations and members. You can notice very easy that it was very large 513 members with 23 affiliations club in 1997. As present it is about 186 members and 16 affiliations club. I notice that it has been reduce from members and affiliations club. We need to improve or support to Local Bass Club in the future.

We need to approve from COR for update guidelines.

Also we need to improve for new registration entry form for NBAD Derby Jr with liability wavier and agreements in the future. TREASURER’S REPORT: Danny Cochran given away unofficial financial report and need to get three trustees to inspect and accept, signed their name as approve for this financial report

PUBLICITY DIRECTOR’S REPORT: No comment

2009 EXECUTIVE BOARD: No comment

2008 GENERAL CHAIRMAN: Scott Hostetler explained about California Department of Fish and Games (DFG) and they went to make sign on the calendar for 2008. Also He explained that for contests held during June 15- September 15, the maximum allowable period between weigh-ins Six (6) hours. All participants are required to weigh –in any and all bass at all required weigh-in times and release their fish as previously specified. Contest sponsors or their designees) shall conduct inspection of holding devices (such as live wells) to determine that no fish are retained by the competitors prior to the final weigh-in on each day of the contest. There is limit of 5 basses and 12 inches up and it is allowing to culling. Also CDBC have four sponsored by club. It is not allow ordering for fishing online. He will get two different fishing tournament permits as one for Monday and Tuesday to Thursday. We are lucky that we will have tournament permit before June 15 and it will be nine hours for each day.

He explained about early bird fee for $85.00 without $15.00 and will start on June 15 and the deadline will be on July 15, 2007. He already put in the back of the flyers.

He explained about CDBC would like to change for Derby Kiddies at 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. from 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday. Also CDBC will sell T-shirts, etc on Thursday evening.
